12/3/07 - I will be working with the AACS percussionists to form a percussion ensemble over the next few weeks. We hope to perform a few Christmas tunes, and hopefully if things work out
we can continue the program through the spring semester.
12/3/07 - Marching band's been over for a couple weeks now and I'm just about recovered! A great run for Annapolis Area Christian School, culminating in an excellent 5th-place finish at the
USSBA Nationals at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. The band scored 93.475 and the percussion placed fourth with a strong score of 19.3. Also congratulations to the Good Counsel Marching Falcons, who performed
their very first halftime program this year. They looked great at the WCAC football championships, held at the US Naval Academy stadium.
9/5/07 - August sure went by quickly, and I'm still catching up on my sleep. I enjoyed working with several marching groups - Northwood, Good Counsel and Annapolis Area Christian. I will be
continuing with AACS and Good Counsel through the fall marching season.
6/8/07 - Just wanted to thank the Chesapeake Youth Orchestra program for having me as their percussion
coach this spring. I enjoyed working with the students in both the orchestra and wind ensemble. I hope we will have more
percussionists next year so we can do some percussion ensemble stuff.
5/25/07 - Northwood high school had a nice drumline mini-camp this week. I was especially impressed
with everyone's hard working attitude, and was glad to see a couple of new faces. Looking forward to band camp!
3/7/07 - I'm excited to have joined the staff of the Chesapeake Youth Orchestra as percussion section coach. I love orchestral playing
and look forward to working with the group in sectionals and hopefully percussion ensemble!
11/4/06 - Congratulations to the Annapolis Area Christian School marching band for a tremendously successful day at TOB Chapter 9 Championships. The band won first place in their group with a score of 91.05. The percussion was awarded "Best Percussion" in their group. Both outstanding achievements! The band won some other awards too, but I can't remember all of them...
10/29/06 - Congratulations to Northwood High School on PREPARING for their very first marching competition yesterday. Unfortunately, the show was cancelled due to a power outage...but not before they got dressed and warmed up. Don't they look sharp with their brand new snare drums! Kudos to the band and Mr. Johns for putting together a really nice show this season. I had a blast working with you.
10/22/06 - This is getting old but....Congratulations to Annapolis Area Christian School for THREE first place performances yesterday. They won their group at the Kent Island TOB, Naval Academy USSBA, and Broadneck TOB show, all in the same day. Also they were awarded best percussion at two of the three shows.
10/16/06 - Congrats again to Annapolis Area Christian School for their first place performance at the Northern High School TOB show on Saturday. First place band, best percussion and best auxiliary.
10/8/06 - Congratulations to Annapolis Area Christian School Golden Eagles Marching Band for their first place performance at the Severna Park TOB show on Saturday. The band earned first place in their class, and the combined effort of the drumline and front ensemble earned them "best percussion" honors.
10/1/06 - Here are a few pictures from this weekend's marching events. Congratulations to Northwood on a nice homecoming performance. Good Counsel had a decent run-through while having a little too much fun. Annapolis Christian's band placed first in Group 2 at the Arundel TOB show, and second at the Glen Burnie TOB show.
9/22/06 - I'm honored to have joined the staff of the Annapolis Area Christian School Marching Golden Eagles! I'll be working with both the drumline and front ensemble.
8/18/06 - Just finished up a week of daily rehearsals at Paint Branch High School in Burtonsville. Working with percussionists Ryan and Steven was a blast. Pics on Myspace.
8/12/06 - Band camp season is in full swing! I just finished up 7 days with Northwood HS in Silver Spring, and three days at Good Counsel HS in Wheaton. I have posted pictures and a blog on Myspace.
6/6/06 - I enjoyed working with the Northwood High School drumline at their spring mini-camp. We recruited many new members and laid the groundwork for an exciting fall season. See you in August!
11/21/05 - The Good Counsel Marching Falcons performed yesterday at the WCAC championship football game at Navy-Marine Corps Stadium in Annapolis. Congratulations on a nice performance!
11/13/05 - Congratulations to the Montgomery Blair Blazers Drumline for winning the 2005 Kennedy H.S. Drumline Competition on 11/12/05! Also congratulations to the Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School Barons drumline for an outstanding performance. Both groups represented their schools very well against strong competition. Great job!
